VPN for games...

is it possible to do some sort of simple vpn thing for playing games across and sharing files?

was thinking of something like hamachi but dont know how effective that route would be... any suggestions?

Don't use it myself but it seems to get the thumbs up time and time again on this forum.

no reason why not, hamachi would work but I don't think it'd be great speed wise.

any VPN will likely carry a speed penalty (particularly for latency sensitive games). If it's just between two locations then practically any VPN application will work (one of the linux app distributions would be a good bet if you have a spare machine).

if it's more than 2 locations then something like hamachi will likely suit you better.

3rd thumbs up for Hamachi. If anything, I think it is faster than a straightforward Windows VPN link (I certainly perceive it as such when using both to the same machine).
