VPN Issues from android client

Hi, I am not sure if this belongs here or in the software section, so I apologise if this is the wrong place.

I have three android devices:
1. An HTC Flyer Tablet running Android 3.2.
2. A Galaxy S2 Phone running Android 4.0.x
3. An Advent Vega Tablet running android 2.2 (corvus 5 custom rom)

I also have a home vpn server running Windows home server 2011.

All three devices are able to connect to the VPN over 3g / hspa using PPTP. However once connected only the Galaxy S2 running android 4 has internet access and is able to see the devices on my home network. The others report that the vpn has successfully connected but have no internet or network access.

I have checked my IP Address on all three devices using the IPDroid App and all three are given appropriate addresses on the remote (home) network (i.e. 192.168.1.x). IP addresses for VPN clients are allocated from a static IP address pool on the server.

The VPN is also working fine for all of my Windows 7 and XP machines.

Does anyone know if this is a problem on earlier versions of android or if there is some extra configuration I need to do on the server to get this to work properly?

Thanks

How have you forwarded the VPN traffic? Have you passed through protocol 47?

I'm unaware of issues with VPN on android but the above is usually my first port of call when it comes to PPTP problems.

I have forwarded port 1723 (both TCP and UDP) to the VPN server and also opened them in the firewall. It is my understanding that GRE / Protocol 47 is sent as normal IP traffic, I don't think I have to open any additional ports do I? I dont know how I would go about forwarding that traffic if I need to either, I am quite new to this.

What I find odd is that one of the android devices, albeit the newest one, is working perfectly.

The default forwarding routes under Advanced options is left blank (Basically everything is sent over the VPN tunnel)

Are you sure your older devices do not have something set in advanced options somewhere be it routes or DNS options?

I think the forwarding routes is an ICS/4.x thing only though.

I can't see anything in the options that is diffrrent between the three devices (except that android 4.0x has a lot more to choose from).
