Hi all, just in the process of migrating broadband supplier from TalkTalk to Zen at 2 of our sites at work (3 in total) and at the moment we have Draytek 2820n's at all 3 of our sites.

This was all configured before I started working here but they all appear to be connected via VPN.

I'm just wondering with a change in ISP will this result in changes in static IP addresses that the routers have and effectively knock out our VPN that we have set up? The routers will be staying the same and Zen will just be taking over the connections at each of the sites.

Ok so am I best just looking for the references to the current external IP's in the current VPN config on the Draytek routers and changing them to whatever the new ones are?

Ah right yeh think I've found it actually. It's only referenced in one place under "Specify remote VPN Gateway - Peer VPN Server IP" I can't see anything which references the IP at all.

They've sent me through what the 2 WAN IP's are going to change to so I think (I hope) it should just be a case of changing the entry in the VPN settings on each router to the new IP and hey presto.

Am I right in thinking the current entry on the routers which links back to our head office will not need to be changed as that connection is staying the same and therefore there will be no change in IP?

It sounds like the head office is configured for dial-in and the remote sites for dial-out. This can be confirmed by checking the Call Direction setting at the top of the configuration pages.

If this is how its configured then you will just need to change the two WAN IPs in the Dial-in settings at the head office.

Watch out for the setting at the top regarding both / dial in / dial out. I find that seems to like changing to the reverse of what I want it to do!
