VPN solution that will work with Iphone

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any vpn server solutions (prefer free) that will allow iphones to connect using the phones inbuilt vpn client.

I tried using openvpn via vm player and although a fantastic free server it doesn't work with iphones. :(

The reason I ask is that I want to be able to push all my traffic via the vpn when using wireless hotspots etc.

I have tried to use the inbuilt xp software but it doesn't seem to work with my inbuilt network cards and all the examples that I have seen all seem to use a dial up modem.
 
We use Windows VPN with L2TP, XP clients too. When creating a new connection:

Settings -> control panel -> Network connections -> Create new network connection
-> Next -> Connect to the network at my workplace -> Virtual Private Network Connection -> Company name -> Do not automatically dial the initial connection -> IP/Hostname of VPN server -> finish

If its PPTP only then just domain credentials with dial in access is all thats needed, if its L2TP then you will need a valid certificate aswell.

Thanks for the info droyden but that is not what I am trying to achieve. Maybe I haven't explained it correctly.

What I want to be able to do is connect from my iphone (when I am out and about using wireless hotspots etc) to my xp machine/ home network via a VPN rather than the xp machine connecting to another system.

The reason I want to do this is to stop any potential hacks/ account stealing etc as I regularly check my emails etc while on the go so don't want anyone snooping in on my session. (I know the risk is low but I want to make sure I have everything secured up as much as I can).

So I need a vpn solution that will run on xp or in vm player/ virtual pc that will act as a vpn and run using either L2TP/PPTP/IPSEC.
 
My firewall at home can provide a VPN endpoint to dial into (running pfSense at the moment) but in the past I had a DrayTek which also offered similar functionality.

Might be worth just looking at the cost of a VPN service as bear in mind any traffic you send through your home connection is going to be limited by the upstream bandwidth available at the other end.

I use one that costs me about £6 a month when travelling abroad (work overseas for the vast majority of the year, and some countries that I work in have some rather unfriendly censorship systems in place and also monitor what you do quite stringently).

Well I am on Virgin's 50MB service so upload is usually 1.5MB which is fine for me as I regulary remote desktop to my home network and everything works fine.

I will look into the program you suggested Sin Chase and will give it a go.
