I think he is looking for a "VPN" service that allows him to route his internet traffic through a US based service so that he can access services that are only available those located in the US? I think anyway :|

If so, I have been using BlackVPN for a few weeks and they seem to work quite well.

Many thanks that looks interesting and reasonably priced. Does it ever go down whilst one is "Engaged"?

Coming from a state of zero knowledge and now having researched the situation - bearing in mind the criteria:
Not having the company situated in the UK, USA, Canada and certainly not OZ where the Government must have been on a fact finding trip to China (the situation of the servers alone is not legally pertinent they must both be suitably situated). Perhaps the best companies are in Sweden ( there are other more positive countries in the EU suitable quite apart from Russia and it's erstwhile states) where the law favors privacy:
iprededtor - the English version is engaged on the map at top right hand side of the home page, - A wonderfully fast service and sending and receiving e-mail from the puter with Office 2007 Outlook works too!!!
relakks,
anonine
All for less than £40 a year ish.
Sweden has one of the Worlds best "Internet/cabling/infrastructures" - fast and cheap - another plus for Sweden
These companies do not have servers in the us or uk so that downloading TV/BBC etc is not possible
If that's your bag give ivacy (Dutch) a go but more expensive but not necessarily as fast or reliable.

Well it depends on where the VPN endpoint is located really. It's only going to have encryption between you and the endpoint, but if the endpoint onwards is just accessing the Internet normally then what's the point as it'll just be regular SSL anyway.
