Hi all,

Hilarious request from the other side of the world.

On hols in Bali and want to stream some tv, specifically some content from itv player to our iPad.

Unfortunately I'm getting an error in the app saying I don't have a uk ip address, so wondering if anyone could recommend a free VPN service we could use to get access ?

Missing Coronation Street? Not worth it, go out enjoy Bali!

You could have left your home machine on and online and setup a VPN beforehand or used something like Remote Desktop if the connections you are on are fast enough, too late now though.

Wow, 3 statements that disregard what the OP wants because they wouldn't want it themselves, 1 statement that tells you how to fix it if you have a time machine, and 1 actually half useful comment. Impressivley poor showing.

OP - KIA is probobly right, most open proxies simply don't have the bandwidth for what you want. You can try googleing "Open UK Proxy list", but its unlikley you will have much success.

If you don't mind only watching TV live, you could try tvcatchup.com, it streams all the major digital channels live.

I think TVCatchup is in the same boat - needs a UK IP.

There are a few free VPN providers like bestukvpn.com/hideipvpn.com (3hr trial) if you do a Google, that might be worth trying. Otherwise you have paid services like britishtvanywhere.com which is around 1 euro for 24hr access.
Alternatively you could look at HotSpot Shield as they offer UK servers.

Best one I can think of is Trusted Proxies VPN service. You get a UK VPN and a free US VPN. 7 day trial too IIRC.

Works for iPlayer. I tried HotVPN, USVPNNET, BESTUKVPN and none really worked with streaming SD quality, never mind HD quality. Just my 2c for you.
