Ive only just heard about these. ive looked on the badass security thread but seems no mention of them, are they a good security option or not? Do many use them?

I use PureVPN. Works a treat. Also use PIA before and never had an issue.

Updated to the latest W10 insider build a day or two ago and PureVPN didn't seem to work when I tried so might leave the fast ring on the insider previews and go back to the stable ubilds.

I use pureVPN with a Windows 10 upgrade install from 7, works a treat.

Most VPNs only give an illusion of security and use outdated encryption amongst other daft practices.

old versions of SSL, untrusted certs etc. Just do a bit of research before picking one, I haven't used one in years so don't have one I could recommend.

Is this mainly free ones or a lot of paid ones?

How much do you pay for this? Does it just work from the device your using or does it work from your router so all devices are covered?

I use PIA which costs just over £20 per year. With this you get a user ID and password, once you have this you can configure their VPN application to connect your laptop to their service. You can also use it on your mobile phone by downloading their app and you can configure routers, however not all routers are capable of handling the overhead to encrypt /decrypt your traffic.

Although it's not a solid way to secure your connection, it is better than nothing.

I use vpnunlimitedapp, works well for my needs.

Google around and you'll find it's available for about 30 for a lifetime account.

Avoid free or dirt cheap VPNs. There's generally a reason and none of those reasons are good for you.
