since getting the Rift during the sale I fallen in love with the Bullets and More BAM VR Demo, the gameplay is rock solid and weapons are an absolute joy to fire and reload, oh god that reload mechanic!!!
The only thing that's stopping me buying it is the lack online players, I'm having a great time against the bots however. I don't fancy Onwards as I don't like 1 life 1 game, and I have yet to buy Pavlov as there is no official Rift support as yet, plus there isn't any customisation to the weapons, which is a big thing in BAM.

My question is, is there a AAA FPS announced for VR that I have missed? It will surely sell well, and if its cross platform with the PS4VR the player base could be large too. I can't help think a simplified CoD (COD4 esq) would absolutely perfect in VR, arcadey shooter that being played in VR would automatically would add an additional tactical element to it.. well, a man can dream can't he

Well, I haven't experienced those issues. I have 4 friends that play it, 3 on rift, 1 on vive. None of them have those issues either.
Might as well take a punt on it. It's cheap, and you can always get a refund if you don't like it or you have problems.

Plenty of workshop maps available too.

Good to hear it, official Rift support is coming very soon too, I'll spend the week on BAM and pick up Pavlov next weekend.

I still only have a 2 camera setup anyway so I'll likely get pummelled on Pavlov, playing against bots with the difficulty set to easy is doable on BAM atm. Is there a shooting Range, or any other kind of weapons training in Pavlov?

Thanks for the feedback

No weapons training or shooting range. I guess it's best to just jump in with some easy/normal bots and figure it out.

Dunno what BaM is like, but this is like Onward for reload mechanics. Click the right stick and pull down to release a mag, grab a fresh one from your left 'pocket' and put it in. Most guns you manually **** with your left hand. With pistols, you can either do that or click the right stick and maybe push it forward - can't remember.
Only exception to mag dropping is with the P90. There, you manually pull the mag out.
ED: The A button changes firing mode on guns with that feature.

As for your sensors, it's just about doable with 2 front facing sensors if one of my friends is anything to go by. Personally, I have 360 tracking with two diagonally paced sensors up on the wall and don't know how he manages tbh.

Anyway, this isn't a AAA game by any means. It's just a fun, fast paced, deathmatch FPS with fairly realistic reload mechanics.

Gameplay sounds just like BAM then, without the gun ranges and weapon attachments. I'll 100% buy this very soon. Thank you for the answers, I'm sure you'll be headshoting me in game in no time!

Dead Effect 2 VR on steam maybe worth a look though I don't know if it has a PVP mode. It does boast multi-player on the store page. It's still early access and I purchased during a sale, just not got around to trying it yet. Current price £14.99.

I don't know if it has a PVP mode.

Yeah it does, and co-op which is much more fun. Despite it's origins, dead effect is about as close to a polished fps as they come in the world of VR. It'll be a few years yet before you see a multi million franchise seller come to VR, there's neither the install base for an original, or the willing currently by the major publishers to soil their big titles with a VR tag. The Toxic response is still far too overwhelming, ubisoft are sidestepping with side projects, and with poor implementation in lesser properties like trackmania. People believing that A VR short sell on a franchise that rockstar doesn't care for in La noire will somehow lead to GTA in VR are dreaming.

Payday has me interested, because if they can meld the VR version in with the mainline game, it'll go a massive way to start the change.

I think the future of VR's longevity could be in cross platform multiplayer, for years the biggest hurdle in PC v Console in titles has been the overwhelming advantage K/M has against a pad, Rocket League, and to some extent Gears4, has shown with an even control scheme crossplay is a real possibility, with VR, that really evens the score, sure there are differences between the Vives wand, Rifts Touch and the PS move (not sure if it's the right name) but it's only subtle. I don't have the sales figures at hand of the 3 main VR headsets, but last time I looked the PS4VR sold over 1mil, the Vive sold over 600k and the Rift 500k, both the Vive and Rift have both had a price cut so those figures are bound to rise. The install base for a major publisher to release AAA multiplayer focused game is very much there, if they take the chance, and the player base would definitely be there, if it has crossplay.
There's already some excellent games from indie studios out, but let's be honest, an indie game, as good as it may be, its not going to capture the imagination of the gaming public as much as game from Activision, EA, Ubisoft etc will.

cross platform could be interesting, i would not feel at a disadvantage with the ps4, the aim controller is great for shooters, infact i feel i would have a advantage using it

The developer of Pavlov treats Oculus like an afterthought. He promised official support back in March!

I refunded it today, and will probably look at getting BAM instead. I already own Onward, but I'm looking for a more casual affair.

I own Pavlov and BAM, I there both worth the money, BAM has a lot of content and is a great game, unfortunately though the lack of player means I have yet to even get a game online, restricting me playing against bots, not that I mind, there's lots of maps and modes, I love breaching with a shotgun. Like I said I love BAM, but Pavlov is the better game, and has a player base to get an online game, which is a clear advantage in my book, it's more polished too despite nowwhere near the amount of content of BAM, the lack of gun range and a training mode really hinders Pavlov in my opinion, I struggle with the controls a little bit in Pavlov, but that's because I played BAM before Pavlov, I'm constantly pressing the wrong trigger on my left touch controller to **** the weopan back, I end up grabbing the front of the gun instead, and with my right touch I'm pressing the wrong button to eject a mag, gets me killed a lot. I'm curious to no why you have come to that conclusion about Pavlov, yes it's listed as Vive only, and the VERY limited training instructions only show the Vive wand. But I found it quite easy translate to the Touch controllers. That said the I do really want official Rift support, sooner rather than later.

I like the look of Raw Data too...
