VR benchmark

I am having issues with Il-2 great battles. I am getting wildly varying frame rates. I have a Ryzen 5900X, Gigabyte 3090 32 gig ram on Windows 10. 3Dmark runs fine and the GPU/CPU temperatures are good. Is there any free software I can run to test my VR system? The 3Dmark suite costs $20 and gets poor reviews.
PS I dont run Steam.

there used to be a SteamVR benchmark and an OpenVR one too

but you're better off imho running a dev or performance tool whilst in game to see where the bottlenecks are and making comparisons with other IL-2 players
