Hi'a

Im considering getting a Vive, however the only game I play a lot of is bf3

So although I've read that it's not officially supported you can Use vorpyx to make it compatible

So.... Basically have any of you used this, how does bf3 feel with vr compared to monitor.

How does aiming work etc etc

Vorpx is a good idea in theory. In practice anything with none native VR support is for testing only.

I have tried quite a few games with VorpX including BF3 and its unplayable. i.e look up up and down with your head and the floor also moves up and down which makes you feel instantly sick. When you move your head its supposed to move, well, your head!
Anything other than just your head moving when you move your head and it will cause sickness (in most people) This is why seated games like driving sims work the best

Ah yea I hadn't thought about how movement of the player is linked to your mouse and how that would translate to the vr headset.

Cool. Well thanks for the info maybe I'll just wait for a properly designed fps for it then

There are a good few wave shooters for VR, and I've seen arma 3 done reasonably well in VR too. One thing to be well aware of is that any acceleration not due to your head movement (eg rotating your camera, walking forwards or backwards or sideways) can cause some serious motion sickness. Your eyes are saying "you're moving" and your body says you aren't, and that will make you feel pretty ill. So a proper fps has that barrier to overcome since you can't really do a 360 no scope without puking in VR.

I even find driving games pretty sickening, but I'm new to VR and still getting used to it.
