VR Gaming Rig

I'm looking at putting a rig together for VR gaming downstairs, have a room we don't use much so thought I'd use it for my Rift (4 sensor set up).

Looking at a 1080Ti for graphics and looking at pairing it with a Ryzen 1600/1700 and a B350 MB plus 16GB 3200 DDR4.

I have a main rig upstairs that will be upgraded once Coffee Lake is available but this one will be manly just VR for now.

Would the 1600 be okay paired with a 1080Ti or should I go for the 1700?
Which B350 MB would you recommend (have a RIVE in my main rig so leaning toward ASUS).

Thanks for the info, very informative, I've not been up to date on hardware since I put my last rig together but since getting the Rift I'd like to get a new system.

I've been reading up more on Ryzen and the gains with having faster DDR4 and that Samsung IC's seem to be the ones to go for.
