Spotted this while browsing on my phone:eek:
Be careful out there people
"According to preliminary information, while moving around the apartment in virtual reality glasses, the man tripped and crashed into a glass table, suffered wounds and died on the spot from a loss of blood," said Yulia Ivanova, Senior Assistant to the Head of the Russian Investigative Committee’s Main Moscow Department, according to TASS. The report does not include details about the type of VR headset the man was using, or what he was using it for.

Damn that sounds like a grim way to go. Glad i don't own a glass desk or anything, I clear my playing area before playing in VR.

Make sure all furniture is out of the way and lock my door so i don't have people getting in my way.

Worst thing i've done in VR was when i used to live in my old house i've smashed around 6 lights that were in the ceiling.

Oh and fallen over because i thought in SportsbarVR after 3 hours of playing that i could lean on the pool table. :D

I have a 5 glass shelf AV stand within inches of my play area...

The Patch in front of my AV stand is my VR play area :o

I think as long as you are not using VR headset like Vive that involve moving around you'll be fine...but if you are, may be it's time to think about installing some hang from ceiling shelf units...

...alternatively, at the cost of breaking immersion may be installing a hook and strap to limit/warn you of range of movement?

Oh I agree - my man cave is (at a guess) 3m by 5m - so when I first got my Rift I had to set up in the loft bedroom for the space. Didn't stop me accidentally punching the walls twice in Superhot. Had to move my rig back to the man cave as I couldn't do anything but VR in the loft without a desk.

Those large houses that you see on TV in the States appear much more suitable then a Victorian terrace!

Is this for real?

Sounds like an assassination job.
