Hello all,

So i'm coming into some money soon and i'm considering VR and a new GPU.

My initial thoughts on VR is that it's a bit of a gimmick at the moment as there's not a great deal of games available. The way i see it at the moment is its a bit like the nintendo Wii - i just got bored after a short time playing on it.

Has anyone here got either HTC/Occulus ? whats your experiences with it ? i.e. do you regularly use it ? do you wish you had not bought it or happy with it?

I'm holding off for a 1080 ti for 4k60 which will hopefully be released sometime towards the end of this year.

I have always really enjoyed driving Sims, so for me it was a natural choice. And it's absolutely amazing to be honest.

Clarity wise, we are taking a step back to pre 720p times, so you'll need a good graphics card to push the Anti Aliasing up and mitigate the quality.

In answering whether it's for you.

Genuinely if you're a racing fan, it's a no brainer. For everything else i still love it, but only you can answer the question . . . it's a big chunk of cash.

If you lived close to me i would be willing to let you try it.

I suggest you try it out first. And if possible try it out for a couple of hours, then go back and try it again.

For me, I loved it when I first tried it. Some amazing "Wow" moments. But now, just over a week later, I haven't used it in two days. I don't play racing car games, so maybe that's the problem, but I do play Elite Dangerous and the problems out weigh the benefits.

I have the Oculus rift. The sound quality is amazing. The immersion is great but let down by blur, poor resolution and headset getting so warm when wearing.

The potential is there though, but, at the moment, it's more a tech demo than a finished product.

I can't wait to see a better version and do we dare hope even ... wireless? that would be the dream.

I like vr and I would be using it near constantly at the moment if circumstances allowed,
however I do think it needs double the pixels, slightly better lenses and field of view,
and some decent games in more traditional genres ( RPG, FPS )

Cant really speak for what motion controllers offer though.

1080 Ti is very unlikely to launch this year. More likely March-ish next year.

The Titan card we're supposedly seeing in the next couple of months, and the Ti card normally comes 5-6 months after the Titan.
