Is anyone running VR on their laptop? I've heard that a 980M makes a decent job of it but wanted to hear some first-hand thoughts.

I run the UnrealEngine user group here and dragging my fully loaded Fractal Design Define R5 across town on public transport is not cool :(

Not looking for a mega powerhouse, just 'good enough' for VR.

Also, laptop recommendations welcome, I've always used Lenovos but they don't really cater to the gamer market I guess. I don't mind cheapo manufacturers.

I got the impression that the 1070 has a mobile version coming to laptops already. If you don't already have a laptop, might be worth a look. A LOT of spondoolies though.

A month ago I treated myself to a new MSI laptop with a 1060 in it. These new 10xx series laptops are pretty much almost as powerful as a desktop as the gpu's aren't just mobile versions of their desktop counterparts.

I've managed to run my Vive of my laptop with pretty good results.
