Just came across this. I'm thinking maybe I'd try it for iracing on my Quest 3.

Now, to listen to the hype touted around on Youtube you'd think this was the best thing since sliced bread. Double your FPS for free?
I'm sceptical. After all, aren't these guys getting sponsored to say that?

Any ideas if it is worth trying? Would it be easy to remove if I wanted to get rid of it? i.e leaving no unwanted clutter.

It's decent, gave me about 20-30% fps increase in racing sims.
It's free so i don't think anyone's making money from it.
Removal is by removing the .dll file it asks u to put into the games directory (it overwrites an existing 1), but make sure u backup the original dll file before overwriting it as it needs to go back if u remove the mod..
I think OpenXR Toolkit does similar, it's easier to install/remove and has a GUI, not 100% sure it's compatible with iracing though (the Toolkits website will tell u).

Thank you tyke. I'm going to do a bit of tinkering with them. Just had a look at GitHub page for openxr toolkit. Seems it does support oculus. I'll post back with my results :)

What GPU and CPU do you have?

The thing with VR is what one person thinks looks good, another will think it's terrible
Gpu is a 3080 ti, cpu is 5800x3d.

I haven't got around to trying out those performance toolkits yet. Spent today just checking out settings within Oculus app and Debug tool. the more I'm getting to understand how the various tweaks affect the headset display the better things are getting with the Q3 headset. I spend more time tweaking and testing than I do racing. Well, it's half the fun innit? ;)
I reckon there will always be improvements and compromises. Once I think I've gotten the best I can from the debug tool and in game settings then I'll probably give those toolkits a go.
From what I've googled so far the toolkits seem to do much of thier magic with foveated rendering thingy.

I'd love to set up some iracing races purely in VR. Let me know how it goes this weekend.

I've done enough tinkering. Too much tbh. And I've not even started tinkering with performance toolkit yet. Another day maybe. :).

I'm struggling to see the difference in many of the settings I'm testing. By the time I've changed a setting and iracing re-boots I'm asking myself if this current visual is better or worse than before. Sometimes so subtle I'm just not sure if it's improved or got worse. One thing, for me though, is consistent: Link sharpening is a no-no on my setup. Whenever it's on I get some seriously annoying shimmering and jagged edges on the white track lines around the track. I've disabled it now. Ymmv.

All these youtubers claiming they have VR visual nirvana is a lot of tosh me-thinks.

My visuals are fine though. Never going to overcome pixelation when my nose is an inch away from the screen in the headset.

Time I started using this Q3 to actually do a race instead of tinkering.

@iseedeadpixels. I'm up for some racing if you still want to organise one or two. (I'll be the guy who finishes last though :)

Edited for spelling misteaks. D'oh!
