Hi looking for some info.

Just recently got a new phone (s7) and the the gear thrown in using the gear seems pretty good but i do feel a bit sick on the roller coasters etc, but the slow moving stuff I am fine with.

I play ED a great deal but what is putting me off is the resolution and everything seems to go blury is the the Vive/Rift better than the gear in terms of graphics/sharpness ?
 
The physical resolution of the Vive/Rift is actually worse than the Samsung S7.

However, I think likely what you're seeing a perceived resolution decrease where "everything seems to go blury" is because of the 360 videos commonly used with the GearVR can't cope with the bitrate required for fast moving images.

On top of this the GearVR's lack of positional tracking is an issue. Your head movement is tracked 1 for 1 with the Vive or Rift so if you move forward in your chair it's tracked correctly. With the GearVR just moving left to right, or forward or backwards adds to the feeling of making you sick.

Finally, roller coasters and other fast moving experiences where you don't have control are another great way to make you feel sick. Having control over the vehicle you're piloting greatly reducing the amount of motion sickness you can feel.

That said, if you're prone to motion sickness then remember to ease yourself into these things. I have a friend that routinely gets car sick but the first thing he did in a flight sim was start pulling loop the loops and stalling himself out of the sky. Needless to say he got sick quickly, but blamed the headset...

EDIT: Something I was trying the other night was (with super sampling) I can make out the checklists in the cockpit of the P51 in DCS

Does OCUK HQ have both these systems set up per chance ?

(only 40 mins from Derby ish)
