Dear All,

I am looking to get back into the gaming arena. It's been a while since I had a proper computer, probably around 2.5 years, so I am completely out of touch. From CPU point of view 3700x looks like the best bang for buck, it appears I'll need anything between 16-32gb of ram.

Question(s)

Best bang RAM?
VR Ready GPU and quiet (not fussed about nVidia)?
Is seasonic still top performing PSU? Which ones do you suggest now?
Which VR headset, I see some over £1000! Are they worth it?

I tried building a computer incl all accessories and monitor yesterday and it came to 4k. I'd like to drop this figure by 1k ideally. I did add the 1k VR headset into the mix, which shoot price up significantly.

Regards

Alternatively to VR, 4k widescreen with TrackIR might be a cheaper option. Although, I cant findTrackIR on OCuk

I only play racing games in VR now. It's the only way to have the proper experience. You need a wheel and peddles too. It can get pretty expensive but low cost wheels etc can be found for slightly less fidelity.

I would hang fire until FS2020 is released. FSX/P3D has always ran miles better with an Intel CPU. It remains to be seen whether this will be true for FS2020. I'm not saying this as an Intel fanboy, P3D is my main use, and is the only reason I have a 9700k system, not Ryzen
