Hi
I'm looking to put together a system with VR (Aero) sim racing in mind (iRacing). I have a set of 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR6-6200 collecting dust, so going DDR5 is a must.
  • Will the 13900K have any significant improvement over the 13700K?
  • I need a ton of USB ports, preferrably directly on the MB, and WiFi onboard. Overclocking is not a must, but running the DDR5 at 6200 would be nice. Storage will be one M2. Any specific MB recommendations?
  • I'll probably stick a 4090 in it. Would a watercooled set like the Aorus WaterForce Xtreme be viable, or will I get better cooling and less noise by going for a Aorus Master and an EK water block?

Thanks in advance for you advice :)

I have an Astro A50 so I'll probably use that, I've tried it together with the Aero and it fits quite well.
One more thing on the MB, it would be nice with HDMI output (for DDU) and 7.1 analog audio output (for transducers).
By my own research it looks like the Asus ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi checks all the boxes?

I was asking what VR headset will you be using not headphones.

WD Black SN850X is good value with great performance or Seagate FireCuda 530
Awesome!
Turns out I can skip the WiFi part on the MB by connecting through ethernet directly to a mesh router, so that gives me a few more options as far as motherboards go.

I'd be looking at AM5 for Sim racing, 7700X, with a view to dropping in an X3D part if you feel you want more performance, much longer life platform and better performance from the get go.

The Intel Core i9-10900K is a great choice for VR sim racing, as it offers 10 cores and 20 threads, allowing for smooth and responsive performance. The DDR4 RAM will provide plenty of bandwidth for your gaming needs. As for the motherboard, the Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Master is a great choice, as it offers plenty of USB ports, onboard WiFi, and support for overclocking. It also has a robust power delivery system, allowing for stable and reliable performance. For cooling, the Aorus WaterForce Xtreme offers excellent cooling performance and low noise levels. However, if you want to get the most out of your CPU, you may want to consider a custom water cooling loop with an EK water block. This will allow you to push your CPU to its limits and get the most out of it.

Is this post by some AI software, it is so badly inaccurate. DDR5 with a 10900K. Lol

Oh so you really are recommending a 10900K, that is quite humorous. Why would you recommend it above 13700K or a 7700X?
Bcs It offers the highest single-core performance of any Intel processor. It also has the highest clock speed of any Intel processor. The 13700K and 7700X are good options, but the 10900K offers the best combination of performance and value. I hope that makes sense!
