Does anyone know whats save limits when overclocking memory on these cards ?

1.6v is default and 1.7v is max

surely 1v extra will not damage the memory right ? or will it.
need some imput has anyone or does anyone add more volts to there memory on there cards and how long have you had the cards memory overclocked at.

I have great cores on my cards but the memory sucks on them max @1.6v is 1500 though with 1.7v i can hit 1650. lol

Wouldn't worry too much about the memory OC's, unless you're benching 1500 should be enough, especially if you have two of them :)

With 7970's I've never needed more than 1.625v before hitting correction. I'd say 1.7v is a little excessive.

I just wanted to know if 1.7v is fine over 1.6v and yeah 0.1v lol thats not a lot shouldnt fry anything should it.

and i dont hit correction if i use 1.6v past 1500 i hit artifacts lol
though with 1.7v artifacts vanish and i can move past the barrier.....

just dont want to fry the memory with prolong use of 1.7v unless its very very safe to do so.

I was advised 1.7v was too much for the memory unless its got really good cooling.

Have you tried voltages below 1.7v? I would say 1.65v should be sustainable for prolonged use.

With the core@1256v, memory running@1668v I got stable clocks@1200MHz/1823MHz on my 7970 MSI OC, but I only benched, never kept it at those voltages as the vram is usually the first to pop.
