Anyone tried the ULTRAC range from Vredestein tyres? They are being billed as better than Eagle F1s by Autoexpress (AUG 2005) and my local tyre supplier has loads of them in stock. Just wondering whether they might be worth trying out?

A friend of mine got the Vredestein Hitracs on his MX5 and says they offer superb grip in the dry - hasn;t tried them in the wet yet!

I read that Autoexpress test, I didn't think it featured the Eagle F1, it was the Goodyear Hydragrip?

Vredestein are, however, very highly rated tyres though. They tend to specialise in non-performance wet/snow tyres and as a result are popular on the continent.

Sorry to dig this one up from the grave so to speak on this Halloween night ;)

Anyone have any experience of these ? Seriously considering some as a replacement for the T1R's when they need doing...

They look cool as well !

I also don’t know about the Ultrac but I have recently had the Vredesteain Hi-Tracs fitted to my car, and so far they seem great. Very good grip in the dry, and they’re quiet. Not sure about their wet performance as its not rained yet.
