VRR Stutter Outside Refresh Rate Division

Hi,

I have an issue with my setup, where my game feels stuttery while using GSYNC. I have it set up using GSYNC + VSYNC in the NVCP. My monitor has a 180hz refresh rate.

When I use a frame cap (in-game or using RTSS) of 90fps, motion feels perfectly smooth. When uncapped, or using a frame cap that isn't a division of 180, motion feels stuttery.

I have tested this at other refresh rates, for example; when using 144hz a frame cap of 72fps feels perfectly smooth, while 90fps feels stuttery.

If anyone has encountered this or has any tips they would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Is VRR definitely enabled on the monitor side? Do you know the VRR range for the monitor?
Yep, definitely enabled! It's got a range of 20-180hz so no issues there.
I find the better thing to do is just run with G-Sync on, V-Sync off, and set the Max Frame Rate in NVIDIA Control Panel to 2 less than the monitor frame rate. Also, not to set unrealistic maximums. If necessary set the Max Frame Rate a little lower, if your PC is having trouble achieving the higher rate.
I dunno. Works for me!
I'll try setting V-Sync off, thanks. Will report back later when I'm on my PC.

The issue persists even when setting the cap far below the native refresh rate, but I'll keep it in mind!

Solved!

For some reason in NVCP, 'Enable settings for the selected display model' wasn't checked. Turned it on and that fixed the issue. Thanks everyone for helping, can't believe the solution was so simple.
