Hi,
Quick question.
VMFS only supports upto 2Tb disk sizes, our LUN is 2.7Tb, is there a way to get ESXi to create two partitions on that LUN, or am i gonna have to carve it up SAN side into two LUNs and present the storage like that?

Thanks in advance.

Never thought of that! doh! lol.
Im really rusty with VMware atm. :(

Might just keep them as separate datastores. Live and test stores.

Question for everyone, basically opinion needed:

Background
2x 2.7Tb Disk groups on SAN.
ESXi v4.1

Basically, how would you carve that space up?
My choices, realistically, are:
1) disk groups split into 2Tb and 700Gb volumes, two LUNs per disk group. All 4 LUNs seen by host server, All 4 LUNs as seperate data stores.
or
2) disk groups split into 2Tb and 700Gb volumes, two LUNs per disk group. All 4 LUNs seen by host server, 2x 2Tb LUNs using the two 700Gb LUNs on the same disk group as extents to make a full 2.7Tb for each group.

Thoughts?
