Is it possible to get vsync working on the desktop for everything 2D?

Vsync appears to only work for games when activated in the drivers so i guess its something to do with the way windows displays stuff?

Not sure why i've only just decided to find out about this now because i've noticed the tearing for as long as i can remember, obviously it would look much better if vsync was on and i think its more noticeable on a tft as well.

I've searched google with not much luck, i find it a bit strange there was only a few odd people who had asked elsewhere and with no help.

Is there some registry key i can change to activate in under windows, maybe under nvidia drivers?

Im sure most people would like vsync on if they thought about it and yet there was hardly anything i could find on it.

Found a setting in the Nvidia settings under "Performance & Quality Settings" for Vsync. The default is "Application controlled but you could try unticking it and setting it to "On".

Yeah of course i know that and like I said it works fine in games but there must be a reg setting that allows vsync under 2D windows desktop.

I've had a good search yet all i can come up with is that there used to be a setting for nvidia drivers but they may have taken it out, this is crazy if true i think so im trying to get some more info.

I can't believe im the only one who would like 2d vsync, im not saying its that bad but if there is the option for 3d then surely there's a way for 2d as well?

Maybe this thread would be better in the graphics forum?
