Just a more specific question that my other thread.

By accepting and keeping the VTX 5850 rather than paying the extra 20-30 to change the brand am i doing myself any injustice other than the warranty?

By this i mean, the 'no frills' approach of VTX, does it mean that there is somehow lower quality components on their cards or more likely to break down or is it purely relating to the bundle of software?

I can live with the warranty problems in the hope that the card just doesnt break, but if i am losing out on performance or at higher risk i would like to know.

Could someone please clear it up for me.

Cheers

hey magicroudabout (bit off topic) - i see you've got a very similar spec to the build i'm currently...well building. How's the Corsair holding up? Would you manage to run another 5870 in crossfire with it or would you need to upgrade?

does reference card mean reference design - or are all reference cards 'made' in the same factory\ies by \ for ati using exactly the same components etc.

if you check out my build log in my sig you'll see i was running 2 x 4870 512mb in crossfire before getting my 5870 and the corsair performed really well so i can only imagine 2 x 5870 in crossfire will be a breeze.

only reason i'm wanting to change it to the HX750 is cable management. i want a modular psu and the flat cables on the 750 would suit my case better.

yes it does. all the same cards from the same factory just with different stickers on.

Some manufaturers do there own cooling like sapphire are with there VapourX and also Asus have produced there own Bios and software to volt mod the card etc but the main components on launch are all the same
