Hey guys,

I just got my HD 7970 from OCUK and plugged it into my Asus Sabertooth MB but nothing :(

I have it plugged in on the 8pin Powersocket, but it wont even show the BIOS screen :(

Took it out and plugged in my olde (Circa 2009) NVida card and it works fine (Albeit at a poor resolution). Tried the brand New HD 7970 a few times and nothing. Tried it on the VGA cable (with x-over) and also on the HDMI, same zero result....not impressed :(

Am I missing something?

All the kit is brand new......Brand new Antec 900W PSU etc etc

Ah....... That seems to have done the trick! It has no instructions and the CD/DVD that came with it has no manual for the 7970! Not so Handy

Cheers guys :)

^ because there's no need for a manual. A quick install guide is the most that's needed.

@ op, download the latest drivers from AMD if you haven't already. The cd is worthless.

not for everyone.it should be a picture of some sort for newb

Tbh if you are buying a pretty high end card such as the 7970, they probably don't expect you to need it, i'd almost call it common sense that if there are two pin power plugs you'd use both.

Although clearly it isn't the case because this issue arose, Idk if any of my gpus came with an install guide, never look at the manual. :p

i'm newb myself, build first pc week ago, wish that my case and psu had better manuals, not that i connect it wrong, but it takes a bit longer to figure it out.
my next pc i'll build in half of a time

Well, I said a quick start/install guide is the most that's needed.

VTX3D probably void your warranty if you remove the cooler (cba to check) so there's nothing for a user to do except plug it in and install drivers from AMD. Manual not needed.
