Hey everyone. Ive just placed an order for a VTX3D Radeon R9 290 "Voltage Unlocked" X-Edition 4096MB and also the Prolimatech Black Series MK-26 Multi-VGA Cooler to tame the noisy beast and was wondering how I go about re-flashing the bios to the 290x version which I am very keen to do. I have seen a few sources through google but would like your trusted opinions or this as I don't want to get it wrong. Thank you very much!!

It's my understanding that the voltage unlocked ones are the ones what couldn't be unlocked to a 290x i may be wrong tho.

Yes they was a few weeks back, but from what i read that they was selling the ones what couldn't be unlocked to a 290x under the "Voltage Unlocked" name

Seems I missed the band wagon. I've requested a refund/credit to my account as if this is the case i would rather save myself the hassle and get a customised cooled 290x when available. Are we looking at January for these? Thanks guys you saved me some disappointment!! ;)

I thought I had seen these same cards being sold by overclockers but pre flashed to 290x? Or am I wrong?
OcUK sell/was selling two types of VTX 290-

a) Those that are successfully flashed to 290x- which are clearly mentioned in the product description
b) Voltage unlocked- these are the ones that which OcUK flashed the bios, but found no extra shaders.

The non reference design 290x's shouldn't be long, the gigabyte one will be shipping next week according to this tweet,

so the others shouldnt follow to far behind.
