a day or so ago I received my new VTX3D Radeon R9 290 V2 X-Edition and installed it , 1 thing I noticed was that it took very little effort to move the heat sink towards the pcb at each end and I mean very little .
I know it is the cheapest R9 290 that ocuk has but I did not expect it to feel this cheap , temps hit 80c in some games is this what other owners of this gfx card are getting ?

edit : (3000th post lol :P)

About the same I'd imagine, its also relative to air flow in the caes. My reference 290 hits 89c tops, average about 80c in COH2.

I dunno, most of the big cards have flex/sag these days unless they come with a backplate.

It sounds pretty standard to me.

it's the cooler that bends/moves when very little pressure is applied , surely this is not correct and yes it has a backplate

I found the heatsink did move more then other 290's however, if you look at how it's mounted, you'll see that it only makes contact with the core.
The Vrms etc have there own heatsinks, the main block doesn't actually contact any other part of the card hence why it moves more.

It didn't worry me as I've watercooled mine with a Kraken & H55. Temps are around 70-75c after a good gaming session. & Soooooooo quiet :D

even though it was the cheapest it still should not have the cooler flex like it does , must be impact damaged due to having a small crease on the box on the corner which I have just noticed

Maybe, why don't you contact customer services?
