I have made a previous thread about my problem, but I have a funny feeling nobody is going to reply because it's just obviously a hardware fault that has gotten worse over time and I probably can't fix.

So I need to RMA this card,

It's a VTX3D 7870black tahiti card.

I bought it last year june 24th. Now it's literally days off being a year. The retailer (Not OCUK) I bought it from tell you to refer to manufacturers website under their returns information (I've heard that you don't actually have too and you can return it to them within 2 years if you pressure them but they will try fob you off because it costs them, how true is this?). Which if i'm honest VTX3D looks pretty **** poor. I couldn't even use their RMA form some error kept popping up so I had to send an email to their support instead...

Anyone RMA'd a VTX3D card before? where do I stand and how do I go about it?

Aren't they Powercolor?

If so, you're ****ed. Their UK RMA is basically non existent. You can try their support channels but when I did a few years back I heard nothing.

Only buy from them if it's clearly covered by the retailer, i.e OcUK. Otherwise you're basically buying with no warranty.

No its TUL Corporation. Powercolor and VTX are just brand names.

The retailer should be covering the warranty regardless, your contract is with them not TUL.

This, espeically considering it is still within the first year.

I thought there's a EU or UK law or legistration that require etailer to cover warranty for at least the 1st years from the date purchased or something?

There is a reason OCUK cover Powercolor and VTX3D warranties directly.

Both are part of the same group and their warranty support is atrocious to non-existent. Good luck OP.

Good luck also. I know how this can be a pain!

We'd all be interested in knowing what happens, i.e. what support you get from OCUK and also the process and timescales involved

Worst case I can replace fan myself I guess,

But yeah it's within the first year by a few days, i've heard retailers you can push them to cover it up to 2 years.

But i'm not sure I have read posts here and there about it.

If anyone knows any more i'd like to hear it, I didn't buy it from ocuk I bought it elsewhere. I would have but they didn't sell the card at the time of purchase :(.

I bought a VTX3D 7970 on launch week from another retailer (it was advertised as their own brand), and it died after about 18 months. My RMA experience was:

Weekend - send webnote/RMA request to retailer
Tuesday - receive email telling me to contact the manufacturer on the link below, no link in the email. Replied asking for the link
Thursday - send chaser message asking for details/link
Friday - phone up and get told to use XFX's return website as "they're all part of the same company". Replied pretty sure they weren't, but person on phone was adamant. Ended call, checked up and sure enough different companies. Phoned retailer back, explained all the issues and problems getting this sorted and was told "Oh, well I don't know how to do it then, so it's just going to be easier if you return it to us."
Weekend - posted GPU to retailer
Tuesday - full refund of original purchase price received into my bank with email confirmation.

So, my personal experience was the retailer (a large, well known UK one) was a bit useless, but a little perseverance and a polite attitude on my part and it was all sorted pretty quickly.

So long as the company you bought the card from is still in business, your warranty still holds so just keep contacting them and, if they ask you to contact VTX3D direct, keep going back to the retailer if you don't get a response from VTX3D. Good luck mate.

Thanks dude,

Yeah i'll have to push for it it seems. Their website doesn't even allow you to click the faulty return option.... bit annoying and no RMA email either. Amazing. However I will phone them and make it clear It's literally just under a year old and they have to deal with it as VTX3D support doesn't exist in UK pretty much.

You will have to push the retailer hard to get it sorted, as I said, you'll get nothing from VTX3D/TUL directly.

Dear Sir,

Did your place of purchase give you warranty for your card?, if not please email [email protected] and I will ensure you are instructed on our support process.

We can't change what has happened previously but please be assured in the UK here at VTX3D we do not leave our users unsupported.

You can also join our Facebook page and message us at any time and you will get a prompt response.

Hope this helps.

Regards
VTX3D
