Hello,

I did a search on the forum regarding this matter and I've followed the steps and still failed...

I don't have a HiJackThis scan log, as I am at work right now, but I do know that there is a random string .dll in there. (i.e. spqQkslss.dll)

I have NOD32 and SpySweeper running on the background,
spySweeper does detect Vundo when it scans, and I can quarantine it, but does not actually work,

NOD32 is useless at this point,

I've tried VundoFix without success (it thinks that every single file on my hard drive is a threat and suggests that I deleted everything)

I've tried SpyHunter (unregistered) and followed their steps to remove it without success,

I've booted into Safe Mode and did all the scans again, without success..

At this point it seems like a format is in place... But before I do that, is tehre any way to remove this incredibly annoying malware?

Cheers in advance,

Try Combofix, download to your desktop and run in safe mode - http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

Its a tool for multiple infections - seems to get rid of most, if not all Vundo/Zlob infections

Definitely the first thing I'll try when I get home...

The annoying malware was actually attached to a version of AdAware download. NOD32 was actually giving me warnings when I ran the AdAware setup, but I thought it was a simple conflict with its installer and anti-virus, so I ignored the warning and went ahead...

Stupid me.

NOD32 seems to know how to prevent Vundo, but it has a hard time fixing it after the infection.

only ever use sites like softpedia / betanews / majorgeeks to download software if you're unsure
