Saw one of these the other day and rather liked the look of it, might even consider getting one.

What are the running costs like? What price will a decently looked after one go for? Are they decent enough to drive? Comfy? Am I alone in my liking of these? :o

Reminds me of some guy who spent £15k on one on this forum by finding a really overpriced one THEN getting it on 20% interest finance. Then binning it.

Quite nice in a classic-retro-sorta way though. That pic is photoshopped though they dont look like that.

A more realistic picture of one:

Competitors at the time were the Honda Prelude, Vauxhall Calibra (I have a 3-way shootout of them at home), and things like the Nissan 200SX.

Is the original pic a slightly old impression of what a new corrado might look like? It has mk4 golf features....

one of the best-handling fwd cars of all time.

get yourself a vr6 storm and enjoy one of the best engines of all time too.

parts are cheap and plentiful. ecp or gsf do just about everything.

The Corrado is a pretty sharp machine, although they feel a bit gutless in 16V form (I'm sure my VW fanboy mate said this is down to lots of them not having a KR head and different inlet cams? Or something like that anyway)

Running costs should be no more than a Golf GTI really unless you go for the supercharged G60 which obviously has the added cost of 'charger overhauls.

If you do get one keep it as standard as possible. Beautiful cars with awesome handling so they don`t really need anything. Plus it will be worth a lot more money in a few years time.

Great cars in the VR6 and G60 variety.

High insurance costs mind, think the VR6 and the supercharged versions are 18 and 19 respectively?

Will cost mega bucks for a decent version too.

I think we should compile a list of cars to which this title has been attributed:

Lotus Elan
Integra Type R
MG ZS 180 (according to Tiff Needell)
mini
MINI
Corrado

Both the G60 and VR6 Corrado are generally cheaper to insure than the equivalent engined Golf however.

The Corrado is on my to buy list.

friend has a G60, is nice :)

When i drove the VR6 i found it quite numb and nose heavy, drank like there was no tomorrow too.

I doubt any VW will be worth a lot more money in a few years,
