VW Golf MK4 successfully changed my headlamp today, but still one problem

OK, so as a noob when it comes to cars, biggest jobs iv done are change front break pads and now changed the front headlamp today which I had to remove the bumper for! all went smoothly bar having to swap over bits from the headlamp i bought the the bay.

Now before i started this I noticed that my back two brake lights have all of a sudden stopped working!!!! god damn electrics on these vdubs are driving me insane! its defenatly not blown bulbs as I have checked the bulbs and cant see any damage inside.

Whats the best way to tackle this without too much cost and pretty sharpish as my MOT is due next week!

Brake pedal switch or fuse. I presume if the centre light is working then it must be the fuse or a snapped wire as the switch must be working.

Middle light is working fine yes. So you think fuse or snapped wire, how would i trace this snapped wire then? Im not clued up on car electrics, fuse I can check myself.

Not sure if you can point you to another forum but there is a very good one for vw golf's ....

check it any one close had vag com or vcds as its now called .. they will tell you what wrong.
