VW Passat start up issues.

For the a couple of weeks my dads car has had some issues when starting up from warm.


example

We where out for about 5 mins before got to a set of lights and where sat there for a few mins then as we started off again it cut out and it wouldnt start again for like another 5 mins.

My dad thinks it could be something to do with the fuel lines and air not getting out or something.


Its an 02 2 litre, thats all I know as my dad seems to have disapeared so I dont know any other info.


Any one got any ideas?

Could you perhaps give a bit more info, like which engine it has, there are a few? And what gen of passat it is, there are a few?

Hi guys, can you help me source a part for my car, I'm not telling you what car it is though!
 
Ive added all the info I know to the first post.


He is thinking of replacing it any way.
 
Not sure if its relevant but a lot of the VAG cars have trouble with the starter solenoid/sensor.

My gf's car would occasionally refuse to start. She has replaced this component and it has been fine ever since.

Im sorry I cannot remember the exact name of it but starting problems with VAG cars are rife on the internets
