VW Warranty

So got my car second hand from an authorised dealership. Was only 6 months only so had the "new" warranty. When that ended I signed up for 2 more years of the dealers approved warranty (where they get it in a do prechecks before approving). That's coming to an end now... Was £30 per month for warranty, MOT and servicing. It's looking like the offer to continue this is no longer available as the car is over 5 years old (18 plate - with 50k miles). Whats the next best option or does anyone know of a scheme to keep it with VW? Want to be stress free if the engine management light comes on!

Given most third party warranties aren't even worth the paper they're no longer printed on, stick £50 a month into a savings account for anything that happens and forget about the warranty. Get it serviced regularly and take car of anything that shows up early in MOT checks and anything your trustworthy mechanic recommends and be done with it. Most modern cars will not require major maintenance or repairs at 5 years old with 50k miles assuming it has been looked after.

The Volkswagen Warranty and Service plan still available for your car and still looks like good value for money. It is less than £40 a month and covers servicing and warranty.

As long as it won't be over 6 years old at the start of the policy, you should be able to do All In again for another 2 years

You can still buy a Volkswagen warranty provided the car has done under 100,000 miles. It's only the inclusive service and warranty package that has a limit on the year of the car.

Ah really? Thats great. I can't check online atm as it just keeps saying "you've always got a policy" so can't go any further. Thanks for the heads up.

caveats ? so what happens if cambelt went

– Exhaust systems including diesel particulate filters (although catalytic converters are covered for
internal failure only)
– Non-manufacturer’s original parts or second hand parts
– Tyres and wheels
Unencased drive belts
– Upholstery, interior and exterior trims
– Washer pipes and vacuum hoses
– Wiper blades, arms and washer jets
– Wiring and connections (including HT leads and aerial coaxial cables)
