VX revolution poor response

Basically my mouse is having poor response issues.
When I left click it doesn't always reconise this action, which means basically I have to click again. Luckily I am not playing a FPS game that requires quick responses!
The curser also doesn't seem to move with the mouse. At time's it's like the cursor is moving through a thick sludge. I think this may be a surface issue, but I see no reason why it should be starting up just now, although my desk doesn't feel as smooth as it used to be and the mouse at times can be heavy on the "pushing" when moving around. But cleaning both has given no improvements. I know this bit doesn't make much sense, but not sure how to describe what I am experiencing.

Anybody have advice or experienced the same? I've replaced batteries and will email Logitech, but just out of curiosity wondering if some-one has gone through the same.

the vx revolution is a pretty old mouse (i had one and loved it but it was stolen ) so the problem may just be that it's finally giving up the ghost and needs to be replaced. however you could try blowing compressed air into the sensor - that might clear dust etc. i've had a similar dragging cursor problem once which was due to fluff in the way of the laser.

as for the clicking problem, i've experienced that before too but only on a £5 piece of crap mouse. it's to do with the actuator underneath the button. not sure if it's fixable or not but logitech should tell you. their support is always fantastic
