Stupid question, how do you get the monitor speakers to work? Do i need to use a 3.5mm cable run directly from my soundcard to the input at the back of the monitor?

Great, thanks. Need to go find myself a cable in my cupboard somewhere. I plugged my earphones into the monitor the other night, suffice to say it took me a good few minutes to figure out my VGA cable is connected to my graphics card and not the sound card.

if you got it new it came with the cable in the box.

Have you tried it yet...whats the sound like...I also have the same monitor but have never yet tried the speakers.

I weren't expecting much and rightly so, basically the built in speakers are unacceptable for movie playback or games. Tinny, lack fof bass and the volume is low even set at 100%

Suitable for general office use only, but of course each to their own. If you need sound desperately and don't want to fork out, the monitor speakers should do the trick.
