I have connected my virgin Tivo and v+ box this monitor via HDMI but when I set the display format on the box to 1080 it say out of range on the monitor but works fine on 720.

Why is this?

Hi I will give it a try, Always worked fine on previous monitors first time I have had this issue.

I have tried other HDMI cables but didn't resolve the issue.

Ill trey your suggestion and get back to you.

yeah same thing happens to me I don't know what it is.

first time it's ever happened with a monitor.

My older Viewsoni the Vx2753MH was fine...

Might give viewsonic a ring but something is always hit and miss with their monitors.
