Hiya guys,

In the middle of getting parts for a loop for the rig in sig, managed to get most parts.

Pump/Res: XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump (Black) V4 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-186-XS&groupid=962&catid=2133&subcat=1845

Gpu block: EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Nickel (Original CSQ) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-463-EK&groupid=962&catid=1520&subcat=2765

Backplate: EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X Backplate - Black http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-462-EK&groupid=962&catid=1520&subcat=2765

Cpu block: EK-Supreme LTX - Nickel CSQ Intel CPU Waterblock http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-308-EK&groupid=962&catid=1519

How does that look? anything wrong or may cause issues?

I've also been giving some compression fittings, but have no idea what size they are, any ideas on how i could check? was thinking about measuring but, truthfully, i don't know what part exactly to measure.

Parts needed are tubing (not sure what size to get due to issue with comp fittings) and Rads.

Any help would be awesome guys and much appreciated.

Cheers
Dave

you can measure the diameter of the bard on the fittings to get the size. measure carefully though and you want the flat part of the barb and not the barb flange itself. that will give you the internal diameter.

The external will probably be a standard size so once you have the ID you can get the OD

as for the XSPC 750 combo, its a bit noisy so you might want to consider a D5 version instead.

Cheers guys,

Managed to find out what the size was in the end, it's: 3/8" ID -1/2" OD (10-13mm), any suggestions on best tubing to get to match it?

Thanks
Dave

ok now you are in to personal taste. Obviously you need the same size tubing as the fittings but as for clear/UV/colour/clear with dye etc this is entirely down to you what you want it to look like inside your case.

of course if you haven’t got a window then go as cheap as you can!

have a look through http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=962&catid=1530&subid=2579 and see what you like. I always use Primochill as I fund it bends better and is slightly harder than XSPC tubing. (they only have Primochill at the mo)

Cheers Ploppy,

Probably going to get the clear tubing, really need to sort out rad/s too, how well do you think a 240 rad would cope for the time being?

a 240 is the minimum you will need for 1 CPU and 1 GPU so I would go 360 if possible or larger still if you can fit / afford it

Yeah, 240 will probably be ok, but your temps won't be especially exceptional for water cooling. Might not be much better than air tbh.
I'd be rocking a 360 minimum.

Cheers Tamzzy, just trying to work out how i'm going to run the loop and if i need any extra compression fittings now i'm getting two rads.

I have 12 at the moment.

also work it out visually and see if you need any 90 or 45 degree's. there aint nothing worse than realising you need one at the last minute.

Oh i see, i thought because one end already has a compression fitting on it, it would be a case of just screwing the non compression end into what ever hardware and then the tubing on the other.

depending on the fittings. if you are using say the Monsoon 90 or 45;s they dont have a compression fiting and are just a bend. it just catches some people out as they think it comes with a compression or barb when it doesnt.

I hope i can use these fittings, don't have the cash to buy anymore, i'll get some pics up later, but to describe then, one side has a screw in connection with a rubber o ring, the other has your typical compression fitting.

Just ordered these for tomorrow

Mayhems Pastel - Red Coolant 1L
Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 13/10 - Clear

Any advice on what fans to use guys? i know the Corsair fans are highly rated, but i don't really want to be spending that much money on fans if i can help it.

Cheers
Dave
