Guys,

I have my CPU W/C'd (i7 2600k) via a 240 rad with 2 silverstone penetrators doing the cooling on said rad.

I also have 5.25" bay res, I am however looking at adding a 7970 into the loop with the addition of an additional 120 rad.

my questions being should i ditch the silverstones and opt for sythe gentle typhoons? if so which rpm is best? or if there are even better fans available?

could you also reccomend a fan controller

would a 240 with an additional 120 suffice for cooling the cpu and the gpu?

is it worth having 4 fans on the 240 (two above and two below?)

I would get 1150's or fan control some 1850/1450's. Otherwise I would be getting Corsair SP120 Quiet Editions. I've read a lot of posts that say push pull fan config on bigger radiators is a bit pointless.

I thought the idea was 120mm per component, so it should be fine. Tbh 7970's don't run all that hot do they.

okay cool, so i think im gonna add the extra 120 rad in as i have space in the back of my case for it :)

and im gonna go for the sythe gentle typhoons @1850 rpm with a fan controller :)

thanks for your advice guys

 :p

I use the gentle typhoons and they are great. I pump them up when I am doing some benching and turn them down for normal gaming. Very quiet fans :)

I'd go for GT's w/ fan controller, the SP quiet editions seem louder to me (even when running at the same RPM) but they do look better!

I have a 120mm Scythe Kaze Jyuni Slipstream 500RPM on my EX240 rad, I should really get around to buying a second but im lazy, its very quiet at 7.5dB, but your loop will prob need something that moves a bit more air.

push pull is pointless.

get gentle typhoons. controller is required though.

Hi Rich,

Just out of interest - what makes you say that? I thought pp was useful?

Mark

Nevermind - the penny has dropped now Lol.Not much gain so not worth it.
