Its only for a years placement, but all I can say is WOW!

3M in Bracknell undertaking a new roll thats been designed looking after some serious IT Equipment.

3M were a bit of a novelty to me. I could only really think of post it notes and masking tape when I had to think about products that they made. We toured around their 'Innovation Centre' within the HO building (which in its self is a marvel), and some of the things these guys build and make just makes you realise that the following statisitc is true.

We learnt that (unless your completely remote) you are never more than 3 metres away from a 3M product.

Heres a few things in case you didnt know....

The badges manufactured for cars (BMW, FORD, JAG) = 3M
Most of the plastics on trains = 3M
Floppy disks = 3M
Every Asthma Inhaler ever built = 3M (patented)
Every road sign (reflective material) = 3M
Every car numberplate = 3M
Face masks = 3M
Durex!! ;) = 3M
Protective wing film and helicopter rotor blades = 3M

The list really is endless................

I'm really looking forward to this now!

Thanks Guys

Yeah, I start in July, at some point and will work with them for 44 weeks. Having said that, at the end of this term, they wont turn me away, they will let me carry on working through the foloowing summer which is a bit of extra cash for me :) Should look good on the CV too!

Its my '3rd' year uni placement.

You have my sympathy for being in Bracknell. I you pull though and things start looking up.

Stay strong.

Dont worry, I wont be living there, and as I have no real need to leave the building......its all good in the hood! ;)
