As title, if I leave the laptop for less than a minute the screen locks, complete pita when I'm trying to read from the screen. Does not happen while a flash/silverlight video is fullscreen and playing.

Any ideas how to solve this?

I've checked that the screensaver is disabled, changed the power settings and the registry for inactive login so that it should never sleep or lock but it still happens. Changed power plan and made a new user account and still have the same problem...

Should have put that this is a laptop that I'm having the issue with, however by changing the screen saver wait time from 1 minute to 9999 minutes this seems to have solved the issue. That would be a reasonable explanation but I had the screen saver set to 'None' and so the wait time would appear to be irrelevant?

True I will submit it as it took me a couple of days to work out. I've literally set everything to keep the laptop awake and on for as long as possible too. The only other possibility I thought of was a faulty connection on the power button that causes it to appear pressed (and so sleep) but I set it to 'do nothing' and it still happened until I changed the screensaver time..

Had another issue when I first installed where the function key appeared stuck on and seeing as I have function buttons on my space bar and number keys it was a pain (have a full keyboard so it wasn't num lock), that went away on my 3rd install but only after reverting to a clean W7 install and doing an upgrade instead of a clean install.

Need a new PC anyway.
