So I had a w10 update the other day, and similar to the thread below it seems to have messed up my drives and nothing seems to get it back to normal.

Have tried messing around with diskpart etc.

What seems to have happened is my C: drive (128ssd) and my T: drive (500gb) (downloads hard drive) seem to have merged together to form Disk 0.

I gather I've lost all my downloads as the drive seems to be full despite not showing any data on it. Is it some sort of backup or what?

Anyway how the hell do I split them back to seperate drives? Like I said I tried all of the diskpart fixes but the problems all seemed slightly different and had no effect. I managed to format the T: drive and for a while it looked ok and showed space but now its showing full again?

Have attached a screenshot. Any help appreciated.

Have you tried physically disconnecting the drive, perhaps try the downloads drive in a different PC?

I'm now cautious of playing around with partitions too much with other drives connected as I stupidly deleted the wrong partition the other week while being absent minded :o

Looks like partition 1 (Recovery) on disk 0 (which shouldn't have a drive letter) has been given the drive letter T from your downloads drive. It looks blank because all the contents will be hidden if i recall correctly. This is also possibly why when you formated it it filled back up (though that is just a guess). The same thing happened on my system when i installed update 1803.

You need to use dispart to remove the driver letter and reassign it to your downloads drive. You have to do it in diskpart it wont let you do it in the gui. This should help:

The good news is though If you did format the Recovery partition then your downloads should still be there once you restore the drive letter
