W210 eclass wheel/tyre size

Does anybody know what the largest tyre size is for 18" wheels on one of these?

I'm thinking it' a 40 profile, maybe 225 or 235?

The E55 came with up to 9" rears IIRC. My 8.5" rears take 255/35/18's so probably 265 or there abouts.

Yeah but the diameter is a problem as 225/45 rub sometimes.. 215/45 or 225/40 are smaller, but not sure if the ~20mm diff would be enough..

has the car been lowered?

are the wheels on a merc or are they on something else?

it's 18" merc s class wheels i beleive. On a w210 e class with 225/45 tyres. These are too big, bigger than factory i think. I'm thinking rather than get different wheels I can just get smaller diameter tyres. (maybe?)
