Hi

Just received my w2207h today and was obviously really excited to get it up and running. Well it didn't last for long. I've got a bit of an issue with it.

As I write this email the display is perfect however when I first plugged it in everything was a bit blurred and fuzzy and there was a bad flicker as if the refresh rate was set way too low. I calibrated the monitor and checked all the settings but nothing changed. So I decided to check the cable connection, unplugged the DVI connection to the GFX card and reconnected it and bingo, perfect picture. Anyway the problem seems to be that everytime the resolution changes i.e. if I load up a game that wants to change the resolution then the problem reappears. Closing the game down and going back to windows doesn't resolve the issue, yes the resolutions resets itself but the only way to bring back a crisp image seems to be to unplug and reconnect the cable (on further inspection at either end).

I'm guessing it's a dodgy cable rather than the monitor. I don't think its the GFX card either as it was perfect with the last TFT. Anyone had anything similar or got any ideas?

I can say so far i have had no problems of this nature with my 2208 [edit: not 2207], it sounds like it is a signaling/sync issue from the source to the monitor, could be anything to do with the cable or the actual plugs on the monitor or graphics card. Have you tried testing with different ports on the graphics card, then maybe try a different dvi cable or even a vga cable.

I'm no way near experianced with this stuff mind so i could be totally wrong, but you still have to test everything possible in any case.

Well I tried a new cable and also took the monitor round my Dad's who just got the same monitor. It worked fine over there so that eliminated both the monitor and cable being faulty.

Anyway that lead me to think about other things such as overclocking and driver issues. So updated to Forceware 169.21, the latest w2207h drivers and also rivatuner to 1.6 and that seems to have fixed it.
