...can one of you tell me how to adjust the height of this thing? It doesn't seem to just lift like the Dell 2407, and the little silver screwy bit at the back barely moves and therefore seems to do nothing.

Can someone enlighten me?

get a screw driver, unscrew the silver screw completly, done. if that doesn't work your screwed.

post back once you get it working how it is, dead pixels, back light bleed, ghosting etc.

Sorted, thanks a lot. B-Grade item, Zero dead/stuck pixels, no ghosting from what I've been able to tell so far (given c&c3 a whirl as well as a couple of 360 games via the HDMI) and I think i'd debate whether there was any backlight bleed at all...even if I say there is its minimal to the point where I don't notice it unless the screen is blank, and barely even then....would probably say this tops my Dell 2407.

Actually, there is one dead pixel...well, more of a stuck one, only just noticed the lil bugger....I can deal with it though, it only shows up on lighter backgrounds.

Glad you can live with it. I'd be taking it back right this second. Even if it meant me driving all the way to stoke to see the guys at Overclockers...

I thought there were rules and standards on that kind of thing...i.e. one dead pixel wasnt enough for it to be covered by OcUK's warranty?

Yeah but the retailers and manufacturers 'rules' have no basis in law. The law (sale of goods act) says anything you buy should be 'free of small blemishes and defects'. Of course in this case it's different since the screen was advertised as B-Grade.

True enough, although b-grade shouldn't mean 'defective', and if it did it should have said so, surely?

you'd take back a brilliant monitor to fix a dead pixel?

Ok, but what else can B-Grade mean apart from that it's not perfect? TBH a B-Grade monitor, it's almost definitely going to be a dead pixel it's been returned for.

Yes I bloody would and why on earth not? You're living in a dream world mate. You're saying you would pay over £400 for something that had a fault? I don't care what the policy is with dead pixels, I'd take it back and make sure if it had 3 dead pixels it would soon have 23. I aint chucking my hard earned cash away on faulty products for places like Overclockers laughing all the way to the bank.

LOL pathetic.

But would you buy something listed as B-Grade and then expect it to be perfect?

Nope, I was merely referring to a brand new one where no end of people have suffered from dead pixels. I wouldn’t touch B-Grade stuff with a barge pole.

OMGZLOLZ!!!"£"11 i'm the pathetic one?! You're the one having the hissy fit. I think somebody needs a bit of time away from the screen...

Even if it meant me driving all the way to stoke to see the guys at Overclockers...

For someone harping on about wanting to save their hard earned money.....how much do you think it'd cost to travel 50 odd miles (each way) to get a new monitor...

Seriously, get a grip.

All I'm saying is I wouldn't put up with any faults on a £400 monitor. As for expense for 100 miles journey it would probably cost me £7. So let's equate this -

1) Hassle of phoning and getting RMA / Packaging / Sending the item / Waiting for it to be replaced / sending it back - lol don't think so.

2) Drive down roughly an hour - see them in person - no fuss - replaced - back within another hour / £7 spent.

You weigh it up. Some of us don't like to be messed around with and wait several days / week. As for telling me to spend time away from the screen - look who’s on 2483 posts...

Let's not get into a childish bish bash, I'm just saying the system is wrong with the dead pixel policy etc.. you have your opinion and I have mine.

Heh, ok people calm down here, no need to argue. I told OcUK about it and they issued me an RMA...problem is I dont know if i have the cash to get the new version of the same thing and i'm not sure what to do at this point.

I'd dearly love to drive and see them in person but im in Swansea and I don't have a car...*sigh*.

Will spend a few days trying to figure out if I can really live with the dead pixel, if not ill send it back and sell a kidney or something to get the new one...
