I have a W370st, and even when idle the fan spins up for a short while every couple of minute and is very noisy.

A bit of googling suggests that this is a common problem with some clevo laptops and there's not much one can do as its down to the bios to control the fans.

I was thinking about trying a newer bios if there is one. Clevo's web site doesn't seem to have any bios downloads, which is a bit odd.

I am also receiving this issue. It's quite annoying cause I can be sitting there, Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all doing some schoolwork outside of school
When a couple of fans, they were up to no good
Started making a lotta noise in the neighbourhood.

I got in one little shock
It was just a big scare
and said "I'm gonna say something in the Overclockers site... Yeah!"

THe problem with the Clevo website is that everytime I try to download a driver, it sorta cuts off my internet and it takes 2 minutes for it to come back up. Its extremely bizarre. Any way to get around this?

Yes, but I got my Windows 7 drivers from the Sager website which basically sells the same hardware and doesn't turn off my internet for 2 minutes.

Anybody else know how to keep the fan down? It's quite annoying when you're watching a film and then BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~

The latest ec firmware (1.03.02) and bios (1.03.03) do seem to improve things.

The release notes for the ec firmware specifically mention the fan noise issue.
