W7 and antivirus

I will be using W7 for quite a while and at the moment I use Avast free for antivirus and rely on BT Hub as a firewall.- I did use Malwarebytes as well but got conflict problems. I use CCleaner to clean up regularly.

So now W7 is on it's own would anyone recommend I use BT (It am on superfast) antivirus being as it's free and covers 2 PC's - My backup PC is on W10 (Legit) so I get both protected for free.

I'm continuing with Avast free .. but ... will any AV vendors stop supporting W7 (like they did for xp)

What is the AV product from BT ? are they supporting/developing/rebranding something themselves ?
... not sure I'd want their software on my PC, given problems with their online account web software.

Looking it up seems BT's AV is based on McAfee.

I did use Microsoft Security Essentials for a while but MS most likely stopped 7 support with that too.

Last time I looked, Bitdefender seems to be popular.

I did a lot of googling for the BT AV and there are quite a few who have had problem as also loads like it - McAfee is something I have always steered clear of since I had my first PC - don't ask why as if there was a reason I have forgotten it. -Probably the junk it downloaded.

I will stay with Avast for the time being.

Bit surprised malwarebytes didn't like avast
Never had any issues running them together

Possibly because John mcafee has been a contraversial figure
Reading about him may remind you why you stopped using it perhaps

MSE is still getting signature updates, its only the platform thats not being updated.

As above MSE will continue to get signature updates. It has the smallest footprint and is the less intrusive of all the AV solutions on win7.

I do have W10 on backup PC - I am a dinasour and much prefer W7 and also the wife uses main PC and any change and she gets in a dither - Then I get earache so will stay put at the moment.

I am trying to make w10 look and act like W7 - When i am as comfortable with W10 as I am with W7 then I might change.
