W7 Retail: Replacing 32 bit Install with 64 bit Install

W7 Home Premium Retail came with two DVD's and three years ago I installed the 32 bit version.

I'm considering a new build and am inclined to install the 64 bit version on it and uninstall the 32 version from the existing PC.

Is it 'acceptable' to M$ for me to uninstall the 32 bit version from one PC and then install the 64 bit version on another PC.

that's fine. the full retail version is transferable between machines. but as you mention, you do need to format the old drive/don't use it.

if you had purchased an OEM copy, it would have been tied to your old motherboard and not re-usable.
