Dear all

Running Vista 64 Ultimate here and have problems with slow USB transfer speeds to USB sticks (like many others). Anyone with W7 experienced such issues ?

Also, I like to use the Sleep mode which in Vista has the well reported "some USB devices don't work after resume from sleep" problems. I'm using a USB modem and when the pc resumes it is disconnected from the internet and won't re-connect. Sometimes disabling and re-enabling works but this is a pain. Most times I have to re-start. Anyone know if this does not happen in W7 ?

Cheers

Update chipset drivers and/or modem drivers, is it a USB ADSL modem? If so, think about getting a proper router.

Its a SAGEM Fast and I have the latest. I have a Draytek 2800 and although it is really a drop in the ocean, I'd rather not leave it running 356/24/7 even at 10 to 15W when there's only my pc.

Not really bothered about download speed as I get 4.5 plus as it is and it works fine from boot or restart.

Ive also loaded the latest Intel chipset for my IP35 Pro.

I don't particularly want to go to W7 as all other aspects of the PC are fine - I just wondered if things like happen with it.

Thanks

DT
