At 10 percent in expanding files it says windows cannot install required files. The fil may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are avaliable, and restart the installation. Error code 0x80070570. The disc has always worked fine, it's a retail disc. Any ideas?

Check your memory voltages and timings in the BIOS, had the same problem on my lads PC and realised I hadn't set the memory in the BIOS, I tried installing four times untill I changed memory to correct settings and then it installed fine.

Could also be a damaged CD. Had this problem installing windows XP a few weeks ago on a computer at work and the CD was scratched to hell, put a new one in and it was fine.

I had a problem same as this some time ago. It was something to do with drivers not in stalling properly, because of some confusion with the other 2 hdd's i had pugged in.

Can't quite remember exact details tho.

Windows 7 wouldn't install on my build below when I updated from a C2D. What I did was take out one of the memory modules and installed all fine with 2gb. Some reason it wouldn't do it with 4gb installed. Just poped the other module in after the install. Wierd :S

Well it seems i have a dodgy memory stick. Installed with just one stick, didn't work. Tried again with the other stick alone, that worked...When i put all 4GB in now w7 is installed, it runs terribly, with constant glitches, blue screens etc...With 2GB works fine.

I have had a horrible few days with my comp. Got a new sandy motherboard and CPU, motherboard was dead. Got a new mobo today, plugged PSU in, it showed the green light...So i thought i was sorted. Turned it on and after about 4 secs, the green light went off, and you could hear something die...Put my old 400w corsair in, worked...So now i need new memory, and a PSU. :(

Cheers for the replies guys
