W8 upgrade from fresh

I purchased the upgrade.
Is it possible for me to install Fresh?
I have got an iso then put in the ms generic code and then change it to my key?
But surley windows would say that my key is for an upgrade version only?
Any help would be great.

to technically i could keep w7 on one drive if i ever needed to use it and put w8 upgrade on the new ssd because i would make it think its an upgrade?
